Alumni and Supporters of San Diego Men’s Rowing,
Last weekend kicked off the start of the Aztecs spring racing season. The Gruenberg Cup was hosted at the Port of LA out of USC’s boathouse. It was a good day of racing with very mild conditions up until the last race when the wind decided to show up and join in on the racing. The tide was working against the crews for all of the morning. Overall it was a successful day of racing and the men were happy with how everything went. We would like to thank alumnus oarsman Aaron Pollock for providing the team with bagels, muffins, fruit and snacks to fuel the day’s racing. Here is a re-cap of all of the races:

Overall the coaches and athletes are very pleased with the first race of the season. The team understands that the spring season is just beginning and the road ahead is a challenging one. We will continue our positive approach and focused training in order to achieve our goals for the 2015 spring season.
This week the team will continue to challenge itself during practice with a few more rounds of seat racing that will lead up to the next few league races as well as San Diego Crew Classic. There is a strong positive focus within the team to build fast boats. The coaches are looking forward to an exciting spring.
The team is looking to alumni and parents for support at future races. It is a joy to see Aztec colors on the shores at race day and we would love to see more.
