Welcome to the Team: Two New Volunteer Coaches Join the Program
As a part of our plan for extended growth, we are excited to welcome Jeff Murt and Bernard Aparicio to the team as volunteer coaches for the Spring 2016 season. We hope to continue to bring on volunteers from year to year as we begin to mold exceptional coaches and as well as athletes.
Jeff Murt

A current Naval Officer, Jeff brings to the team eight years of competitive rowing experience, coaching experience, and outstanding character. Jeff competed and excelled as a four year varsity rower at Southgate and Mercyhurst University in Erie, PA while receiving his bachelors in Intelligence Studies. During his summers, Jeff rowed at both the Wyandotte Boat Club, and Penn AC in 2010. Before joining our team, Jeff spent one year coaching at Southgate Anderson and the Wyandotte boat club coaching the junior mens and masters programs.
During his career, Jeff has raced in the Head of the Charles regatta, Aberdeen Dad Vail Regatta, Stotesbury Cup Regatta, USRowing Youth National Championships, SRAA National Championships, USRowing Club National Championships, Royal Canadian Henley Regatta, and attended as a spare the Henley Royal Regatta in England.
Bernard Aparicio
BERN
Bernard Aparicio rejoins us after competing for four years and becoming one of the fastest lightweights the team has seen in decades. A current rowing instructor as Mission Bay Aquatic Center, Bernie joins the team as he completes his bachelors degree in Civil Engineering and trains for a shot at the lightweight national team. Bernie joins us with extensive experience as an instructor, athlete, boatman, and above all else a hard worker.
